A bit more about me

I am an experienced leader, facilitator and programme manager, as well as a school governor and former trustee. I am passionate about improving public services, delivering organisational change and improving outcomes for local communities. I have a strong track record of supporting people and organisations to learn and grow in the voluntary and community sector, and local government.

With a deep interest in the world around me, I have sought out new ideas and experiences throughout my career, working across the UK and internationally. I have enjoyed working on different challenges in different contexts and points in the system, which means I have a generalist perspective (something I have learnt to embrace!)

There is nothing I love more than working with people as a connector and problem solver to turn ideas and ambitions into practice.

Building trusting relationships that create the space and safety to think differently are at the heart of all I do. I combine this with an understanding of the systems that support effective change and the bumps in the road that can often get in the way. I help people navigate them effectively and build the connections that lead to success.

Work I am especially proud to have been a part of

  • Collaborated with local authorities across the UK to implement HENRY programmes in Children’s Centres. This vital work supports families to build the connections that create the best start in life. Our work received a King’s Fund Impact Award in 2014 and has been shown to reduce levels of childhood obesity.

  • Delivered service transformation in Children’s Social Work and Adult Social Care. This focused on supporting early intervention and prevention, as well as designing new services.

  • Led Camden Council’s learning and development team and delivered organisation-wide learning programmes, including an anti-racist learning offer that supported 1000s of our colleagues to learn, reflect and begin the work required to make Camden a fairer, more inclusive organisation.

  • Supported the co-design of a new strategy for HENRY as a trustee, helping to ensure the core values remained at the heart of the organisation, while making space for growth that allowed HENRY to move from a small to a medium-sized charity.

  • Exploring how I can bring my experience of community engagement to the role of Chair of Governors at our local primary schooling. Focusing on how we can make strategic decision-making more inclusive.
